An autumn sunray

An autumn sunray

I do love autumn, the colours, the crispness, I start to have permission to be an introvert. I was walking up a wee hill here and a feather was caught in the breeze and the sun. I just had to stop and write what came to me. One instant of absolute connection with life.

A feather
a speckle of dust
a leaf
a dream
floating in an autumn sunray.

The song of geese
the buzz of a late bee
the chirp of robins
my heartbeat
vibrating in an autumn sunray.

Cars speeding
doors slamming
dogs barking
my nervous system
soothed by an autumn sunray.

Contrasting opinions,
conspiracy theories,
collapsing paradigms
my fear
dissolving in an autumn sunray.
